Didier Drogba has signalled his intent to ignore offers from the Premier League and remain at Shanghai Shenhua.

The former Chelsea star has been linked with a potential January move to Liverpool despite only having joined the Chinese outfit in the summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham also reported to be interested.

But the 34-year-old Ivorian appears set to stay in Shanghai after revealing he is looking forward to the new season in China, which begins in March.

“I hope next season I can start again from the beginning with Shenhua,” said Drogba.

“Because I joined relatively late, I didn’t prepare with the team early in the season, so our results were not very good.”

Drogba scored 157 goals in 341 appearances for Chelsea during his spell at Stamford Bridge.
