Lukas Podolski vows to improve his form for Arsenal
Lukas Podolski sets his sights on netting more goals and creating more assists for Arsenal in his first season at the Gunners
Lukas Podolski says he is satisfied with his start to his Arsenal career but insists there is always room for improvement.
The Germany international has netted seven goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for Arsene Wenger’s men this season but the 27-year-old is keen to improve his tally.
“For now I think it is good but I think I can be better,” Podolski told Arsenal Player ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Everton.
“I think I can score more goals, to help the team and take some assists. But I think for now it is good and I keep trying to get more.
“I feel good, I feel good in the team and the club. We need some more points to get up in the Premier League but I think when we play like we did against Tottenham we will get the points.”
Podolski also feels it is important that Arsenal do not rely on a single source of goals, something they were perhaps guilty of last season with Robin van Persie.
“Yes, it’s important to share the goals,” he added.
“Last season there was one guy, Robin van Persie, who scored 30 goals or more. Now we have four of five players who score five, six, seven or eight goals.
“I think this is important when a good player leaves the Club, it’s important for some other players to score the goals.”
