Man United striker Javier Hernández: It should go down as my hat-trick
Manchester United's Javier Hernández says he should be credited with a hat-trick after inspiring his side to victory at Villa Park

Javier Hernández is convinced he should be credited with a hat-trick after inspiring Manchester United to a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday.
The 24-year-old came off the bench at half-time to score three goals in the second half, which included a shot which was deflected off a Villa defender and past Brad Guzan.
Ron Vlaar was credited with an own-goal but Hernández believes the strike should be added to his tally, with the Mexican adamant the effort was goal-bound.
“I’ve seen the replay and I think it’s going on target,” Hernández told United’s website.
“The defender tried to get it away but I think he kicked it in the same direction as I shot.”
With United trailing 2-0 at Villa Park after Andreas Weimann’s brace, Hernández took his tally to seven goals in his last five games in all competitions, with an 87th-minute winner.
“It felt unbelievable to score the winner,” added Hernández.
“But the most important thing is we get the three points and we’re still on the top with a four-point gap. We’re very happy.”
Hernández also revealed Ferguson’s words of encouragement at half-time which led to the Mexican’s match-winning display.
“He said to do my best, to do the things I have been doing in my last few games and on the training ground as well,” he said.
“I try to do that every time, to help my team with a lot of effort and to do the things I have done today.”
