Pepe Reina: World-class Luis Suárez is on fire at Liverpool
Pepe Reina is not surprised to see Luis Suárez linked with some of Europe's top clubs but is sure striker will stay at Anfield
Pepe Reina is not surprised that Luis Suárez has been attracting the interest of some of Europe’s top clubs with his superb form for Liverpool this season.
The Uruguay striker was linked with a move to Manchester City last week, while Serie A champions Juventus are also reported to be courting the 25-year-old.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers moved to play down reports linking the forward with an Anfield exit last week – and goalkeeper Reina says Suárez is happy on Merseyside.
“Luis is on fire,” Reina told Sky Sports. “He is in really good form and he looks like he can score every game and for us that is very important because we need to profit from that.
“He will attract the interest of many clubs, it is only normal, but he is quite happy at Liverpool and that is the important thing for us and the supporters. He is certainly a world-class striker and that is a good thing he is playing for Liverpool.”
Suárez, who last week said he wants to spend “many years” at Anfield, has scored 13 goals in 17 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
