Super League’s Magic Weekend to stay at Man City’s Etihad Stadium
Super League's Magic Weekend will be played at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium in each of the next two seasons
Super League’s Magic Weekend will remain at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium for the next two seasons, Super League chiefs have revealed.
The two-day spectacle will see all 14 teams collide in seven different encounters, over the Spring Bank Holiday on 25-26 May.
“It gives me great pleasure to be able to confirm that Etihad Stadium will again host the Super League Magic Weekend in 2013,” said Super League chief executive Nigel Wood.
“It was clear from the feedback we received from this year’s event that the overwhelming majority of fans had a fantastic experience at the stadium and were keen to return.
“The location and lay-out of the Etihad Stadium provides the perfect setting for this unique and very special sporting event and I am sure Magic Weekend will continue to grow in stature as more fans experience the extraordinary nature of Super League.”
The event’s 2013 schedule will be released next Monday when the season’s fixtures are announced, with tickets set to hit the shelves early December.
