Andre Villas-Boas convinced Tottenham can finish in the top four
Andre Villas-Boas is convinced Tottenham Hotspur have what it takes to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season
Andre Villas-Boas is certain his Tottenham Hotspur squad have what it takes to finish in the top four and book their place in next season’s Champions League.
Spurs were cruelly denied a spot in Europe’s elite club competition last term despite finishing fourth, due to Chelsea’s triumph over Bayern Munich in May’s final.
Villas-Boas’s side currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League table, but the north Londoners are level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal.
And the Portuguese coach, who took over from Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane and whose side could only draw with Stoke City at the weekend, is convinced Spurs can replicate last season’s finish.
“I think we have enough to finish top four,” Villas-Boas said. “It doesn’t shift because of one result.
“There’s a lot of teams with 30 points so even if the teams get a couple of points the difference is minimal. The Premier League is like that.”
