Man City transfers: Daniele De Rossi is not for sale, says Roma chief
Man City transfers: Roma president James Pallotta insists Daniele De Rossi will not be sold in the January transfer window
Roma president James Pallotta has quashed talk of selling captain Daniele De Rossi amid speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester City.
The 27-year-old has regularly been linked with a switch to Roberto Mancini’s side in recent seasons, with Paris Saint-Germain said to have joined the race to sign De Rossi ahead of the January transfer window.
With Roma struggling in sixth place under Zdenek Zeman, there had been suggestions that the Italy international could quit the club after clashing with his under-fire manager.
But Pallotta insisted Roma are not considering selling De Rossi, adding that the Giallorossi have not received any offers for the midfielder despite reports emerging from England.
“We have absolutely no intention of selling De Rossi,” said Pallotta.
“We have not had any contact from anyone and we have not received any offers. It is just speculation.”
