Arda Turan wants to leave Atlético Madrid and play for another club, according to the Turkey international’s agent.

The 25-year-old has scored four goals in 15 La Liga appearances this term, helping Diego Simeone’s side up to second place in the Spanish league.

But Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut says the midfielder, who joined Atlético from Galatasaray in 2011, is keen to leave Madrid at the end of the season.

The Turkish star is reported to be a Liverpool fan, prompting speculation suggesting he could make a switch to the Merseyside outfit, although a £19.5m contract release clause could be a stumbling block.

“I have wanted to see [Arda] play for another team in another league and Arda also wants to play for another club,” Bulut told Turkish television channel TRT.

“He wants a different experience. We are working now to try and do exactly that.

“Atlético know of our intentions. If successful, Arda will leave Atleti at the end of the season.”
