Liverpool transfers: Daniel Sturridge’s agent rubbishes ‘demands’
Liverpool transfers: Daniel Sturridge's agent dismisses claims the striker has demanded £80,000-a-week ahead of Reds switch
Daniel Sturridge’s agent has denied claims that the Chelsea striker has made wage demands if he is to join Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a January move to Anfield after being limited to just two starts for Chelsea this season.
Sturridge, who scored 13 goals in 43 outings for the Blues last term, is believed to be keen on a switch to Liverpool amid reports he has demanded £80,000-a-week as well as guarantees over a starting role should he move to Merseyside.
But the striker’s representatives have denied the claims. “Daniel Sturridge does not conduct his business in public,” read a statement from Octagon, who represent the Chelsea forward.
“He also does not make demands in any negotiation, with regards to salary or his playing position.
“Any contract between a club and a player has to be based on mutual agreement.”
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to have failed in a bid to lure Sturridge to Anfield on a loan deal in the summer.
