Tottenham transfers: Andre Villas-Boas suggests that he will not look to strengthen his Spurs squad in January window
Andre Villas-Boas has hinted that he will not look to strengthen his Tottenham Hotspur squad in the January transfer window.
Spurs have been linked with number of players in recent months, including Shakhtar Donetsk forward Willian, who the Portuguese coach tried to sign last winter while he was still in charge at Chelsea.
But Villas-Boas, who was named as Harry Redknapp’s successor at White Hart Lane in the summer, has suggested that the players due to return from injury will give Spurs enough of a boost, meaning the north Londoners do not need to splash the cash next month.
“I don’t think we need [money for January], to be fair,” Villas-Boas, whose side are currently fourth in the Premier League table, told Sky Sports.
“We have three top players coming back from injury that played most of the games last season – Younes Kabul, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker.
“These will be major additions to our squad and we are happy to continue with this squad.”
