Tottenham transfers: Andre Villas-Boas insists Spurs midfielder Scott Parker is not for sale amid interest from QPR
Andre Villas-Boas has insisted Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker is not for sale amid reported interest from Queens Park Rangers.
The 32-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Spurs this season after picking up an Achilles injury while representing England at Euro 2012.
Villas-Boas has utilised his plethora of midfield options in Parker’s absence, with Moussa Dembele, Clint Dempsey, Tom Huddlestone and Sandro all being used in a central role.
Parker has been linked with a possible switch across to west London after Harry Redknapp was appointed as Mark Hughes’ successor at Loftus Road.
But the Tottenham manager denied the club are looking to sell Parker, with the Portuguese coach looking forward to the midfielder’s return to his first-team.
“At this moment, it is not even a consideration. It is very unfair that you put a player who was voted best player at Tottenham last year into the transfer market just like that,” he said.
“He’s an amazing player, it’s such a good boost for us he is back. He’s someone who can give us major help.”
