The Albion boss was named as the Barclays Premier League manager of the month for November after guiding his side to four consecutive wins, including a 2-1 triumph over Chelsea.

Clarke’s side currently lie in sixth place in the Premier League table after suffering three back-to-back defeats.

And the former Liverpool coach is braced for a test of his team’s character ahead of Saturday’s clash with West Ham at The Hawthorns.

“We have now lost a couple and it’s a different challenge for us and a different pressure,” said Clarke.

“We’ve always said that there will be good moments in the season and there will be bad moments and you have to stay level-headed and remain objective over the course of the season.”

Reflecting on his award, Clark said: “It’s a good reward for a good month in November. It’s a good reward to pick up, but it’s a reward for the work of my staff and the players.

“The players have done exceptionally well in November. We had a great run and four victories in a row in the Premier League is difficult to do. We managed to do that.

“This trophy is a little reward for them. We wanted to start well and try to build on it. Up until November, we have done really well.”
