Alan Hutton admits that he would consider a permanent move to Real Mallorca after joining the La Liga outfit from Aston Villa.

The Scotland international has not featured for the Birmingham side this season, with the former Tottenham defender out-of-favour under Paul Lambert.

The 28-year-old right-back has joined Mallorca on loan until the end of the season, and Hutton is relishing the chance to prove his quality in Spain’s top flight.

“It would be a brilliant thing for me to stay on,” he told the Daily Record.

“First and foremost I know I need to prove to everybody what I can give to the team and that I deserve to be here.

“I am happy to be here and looking forward to being involved in what’s going on in the future.”

Meanwhile, Lambert doubts that he will make any signings before the January transfer window closes on Thursday.

“At this minute there’s not much really happening. There’s been guys we went for who have gone to other clubs,” said Lambert.

“How many players are we short? There’s a few. But I knew the remit of the job was to rebuild. To rebuild something you have to strip it right back.

“But if you are asking me if there will be a vast amount of money available during the rest of the transfer window, there won’t be.”
