As snow sweeps across England, El Tipstro is relishing the chance to watch some top football in the warmer climes of Italy and Spain – and he’s backing Lionel Messi to be on fire against Real Sociedad.

Our man-in-the-know on the continent is backing the Argentina international to score two goals or more against Sociedad and expects Barcelona to win by a single goal at the Anoeta Stadium.

Elsewhere, he is backing Spain striker Roberto Soldado to help Valencia to a draw – and possibly a win – against Real Madrid on Sunday night.

Messi to score two goals or more v Sociedad – 11/8

Messi has an impressive record against almost every team in La Liga – and Real Sociedad are certainly conformers here! He scored twice against the Basque outfit at the Camp Nou earlier this season, taking his tally to five goals in his last five games against Sociedad. El Tipstro’s opening foray for this edition is unsurprisingly Messi to score – not once – but at least twice on Saturday night at 11/8.
Bet365 odds

Barcelona to win by a single goal v Sociedad – 5/2

Sociedad have impressed in recent weeks, giving themselves a fighting chance of qualifying for next season’s Europa League. They were unfortunate to suffer a 4-3 loss to Real Madrid, and their record against Barcelona is decent. The Catalans have failed to win on their last two trips to the Anoeta Stadium. So, Tito Vilanova’s side to win by a single goal could be worth a punt at 5/2.
Bet365 odds

Valencia to win or draw v Madrid – 11/10

Much has been made of Madrid’s recent slump, with José Moruinho’s side failing to beat La Liga’s basement club Osasuna last weekend. Valencia have improved since Mauricio Pellegrino’s sacking in 2012, winning their last three La Liga games. They did lose to Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey in midweek, but El Tipstro reckons Valencia to beat or draw with Madrid is a good shout at 11/10!
Bet365 odds

Soldado to score for Valencia against Madrid – 6/4

Soldado will be looking to make the most of an out-of-sorts Madrid defence on Sunday night. The Spain international has scored three goals against Madrid in their last two meetings at the Mestalla. Furthermore, the 27-year-old has scored 11 goals in 17 La Liga appearances this season. So, Soldado to net yet again against Mourinho’s side is very good value at 6/4.

The long shot: Roma to score over 3.5 goals v Inter – 5/1

Roma to score bucket loads of goals has been a particular favourite of El Tipstro this season. I Lupi have rarely disappointed – they’re the top scorers in Serie A with 43 goals. Remarkably, their biggest victories at the Stadio Olimpico have come against the bigger sides in the league. Roma were 4-2 winners against AC Milan and Fiorentina, so El Tipstro reckons the Rome outfit to score over 3.5 goals against Internazionale is worth a punt at a very generous 5/1.
