Tottenham transfers: Fernando Llorente agrees 4-year Juventus deal
Tottenham transfers: Juventus announce that Atlhetic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente will move to the Italian champions in the summer
Fernando Llorente will join Juventus on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao in the summer, the Serie A champions have confirmed.
The Spain international has agreed to pen a four-year deal at Juventus and will move Turin when his Bilbao contract expires at the end of the season.
In December, Llorente confirmed that he would be not signing a new deal at the Basque outfit, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both reported to be weighing up a move for the striker.
However, the World Cup winner has opted to move to Antonio Conte’s side, who are currently five points clear at the top of Serie A.
A Juventus statement read: “Juventus can confirm that Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente will join the club on 1 July 2013.
“The 27-year-old has agreed terms on a four-year deal and will move to Turin when his Athletic Bilbao contract expires at the end of the current season.”
Llorente has scored 115 goals in 312 appearances for Bilbao after making his first-team debut in a 1-1 draw with Espanyol in January 2005.
Juve’s new signing was a runner-up in the Europa League and Spanish Cup last season, before helping Spain lift the European championship in Poland and Ukraine last summer.
