Wesley Sneijder is interested in sealing a move to the Premier League – but not to Queens Park Rangers, according to the Internazionale midfielder’s agent Soren Lerby.

The 28-year-old looks set to leave the San Siro outfit after the Netherlands international failed to agree a new deal with Inter.

QPR had been touted as a possible shock destination for the playmaker, but Lerby insisted Sneijder would only consider joining one of England’s top clubs.

“He is absolutely not interested in QPR and we haven’t heard directly from anyone there,” said Lerby.

“England probably has the top league in Europe, so it could appeal, but Wes would want to play for a top team.”

Sneijder, who previously played for Ajax and Real Madrid, has not featured for Andrea Stramaccioni’s side since 25 September.

However, Lerby insists that his client is still one of the top midfielders in Europe and he hopes to have Sneijder’s future sorted within the next 10 days.

“Wesley is one of the best midfielders in Europe. He is fully recovered from injury and just loves to play football, so we need to find a solution to his situation with Inter,” he added.

“It’s a very, very strange situation for all of us. We should know a lot more in the next week to 10 days.”
