Abou Diaby believes that Arsenal have what it takes to “deal” with Tottenham Hotspur when the Gunners travel to White Hart Lane for their top-four showdown on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger’s men head into the clash four points behind their north London rivals in fifth place in the Premier League table after their 2-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend.

Arsenal know that a Spurs victory will see their neighbours open up a sizeable seven-point lead on the Gunners.

But Diaby is backing Wenger’s side to step up to the plate and says the visitors will have the “psychological edge” after having beaten Tottenham at Emirates Stadium earlier this season.

“We all look forward to these big games because they are not only important to us, but to the club and the fans. It is more than a game,” Diaby told Arsenal Player.

“The atmosphere around the game means we all want to win, so that makes it very exciting. That is why I think there are so many goals.

“It will be difficult because they play at their ground and have the crowd supporting them. But we just have to deal with that.

“Of course [we have a psychological edge] because from the last game against them we took some lessons and we know them well. We know how to deal with them.”
