Joel Campbell says he is happy to let Arsenal decide his future when the forward’s loan spell at Real Betis finishes at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has scored two goals in 15 appearances for Betis after completing a season-long loan move to the La Liga side last August.

Campbell was signed from Deportivo Saprissa in 2011 before being loaned out to Lorient for the 2011-12 campaign after failing to get a work permit in England.

The same issue resulted in the striker’s move to Betis, and the Costa Rica international is happy at the Seville-based outfit, who are chasing a Europa League spot.

“Being in a country like Spain and to play in this league means a lot. I want to keep playing well to keep progressing as a player,” Campbell told Spain’s Diario de Sevilla.

“I will concentrate until June and see what will happen after. I’ll give everything on the pitch until June, until we reach that date, to see what happens with me.

“Arsenal are in charge of my career and I am longing to play with them, but I’m very comfortable here and I play for Betis wholeheartedly.

“I’m trying to give my all for Betis because they opened the doors for me. We can go ahead and we believe make Europe.”
