Chelsea’s Oscar looking forward to facing boyhood hero Lampard
Oscar reveals his excitement at the prospect of playing against his Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard when England host Brazil
Oscar has revealed his excitement at the prospect of playing against his Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard when England host Brazil in Wednesday’s friendly.
The Brazilian 21-year-old, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Internacional last summer, is in line to take on the familiar faces of Lampard, Ashley Cole and Gary Cahill at Wembley.
The attacking midfielder says he will relish the chance to take on his club-mates in London and admits that he has been a huge admirer of Lampard since before he moved to England.
“It will be a great experience to play against England and my Chelsea team-mates, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Gary Cahill,” Oscar told Chelsea’s website.
“For me, Lampard is a player I’ve watched since I was little, and he’s one of England’s great players. I’m lucky to actually play with him on a daily basis and Brazil will now play England at Wembley.”
Oscar has scored seven goals and made eight assists in 36 appearances for Chelsea in his debut season in west London.
