Chelsea transfers: Everton’s Fellaini tells the Blues to make an offer
Chelsea transfers: Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini tells the Blues to make an offer if they want to sign him in the summer
Marouane Fellaini has encouraged Chelsea to make an offer for his services if the Blues are serious about signing the Everton midfielder.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, with the Belgium international scoring 11 goals in 23 appearances in all competitions.
The former Standard Liege star has been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge but the Blues failed to make a bid during the January transfer window.
Fellaini had previously stated his desire to see out the remainder of his current Everton deal, which expires in 2016, but the playmaker has now urged Cheslea to make a bid.
“If Chelsea want to sign me, then they need to come forward with a bid for me,” he told the Sun.
“I have heard about Chelsea’s interest but I’ve honestly not spoken to them.
“Every season I’ve been here, top clubs have been asking about me but, for now, I’m happy at Everton.”
Fellaini has been a key player for David Moyes’ side as they look to compete with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur for a fourth-place finish this season.
Despite hinting at his interest in a move, the midfielder admitted he would prefer to play in the Champions League with Everton – not Chelsea.
“It might feel better to play Champions League football for Everton than Chelsea, as they gave me my debut in England,” he added.
