Gerard Pique: I want Man United to knock out Real Madrid
Gerard Pique wants to see Manchester United progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League at expense of Real Madrid
Gerard Pique says he wants to see Manchester United progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Real Madrid.
The Barcelona defender, who spent four seasons at United between 2004 and 2008, is hoping that his former club can beat Los Blancos ahead of the first leg of their last-16 tie at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
But the centre-half does not expect the Red Devils to have an easy ride against Jose Mourinho’s men, despite their recent patchy domestic form.
“I would like Manchester United to make it to the next round,” Pique said.
“I would like them to progress because of my time at the club. However, Madrid have been in good form in recent weeks. It promises to be an interesting tie.”
