John Terry believes that Chelsea can finish second in the Premier League this season.

The west Londoners, who are currently 16 points behind leaders Manchester United, are third in the table and just four points behind second-placed Manchester City.

And with 12 games left to play, the Chelsea captain, who scored as the Blues registered a 4-0 win over Brentford in the FA Cup on Sunday, feels that second is a realistic target for Rafael Benítez’s men.

“Manchester United are a million miles away so we’ve just got to win our games, do our job and really push,” talkSPORT quotes Terry as saying.

“If we manage to go on a run and Manchester United drop points then they know better than anybody that we’ll push.

“If we can get second place that would be fantastic but the main thing for us is to be playing Champions League football next year.”

Chelsea host Sparta Prague in the return leg of their Europa League last-32 tie on Thursday, with the Blues currently leading 1-0.
