Man City transfers: Roberto Mancini confirms that he is a keen admirer of both Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao
Roberto Mancini has confirmed that he is a keen admirer of Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao amid speculation linking the forwards with summer transfers to Manchester City.
Napoli forward Cavani and Atletico Madrid hit-man Falcao have both been linked with moves to the Premier League in recent months, with both City and Chelsea understood to be interested in the players.
Mancini, who is also reported to be considering a summer swoop for Liverpool striker Luis Suárez, admits that he is a keen admirer of both players and believes they would be able to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.
“I like him [Cavani], but all the world wants him,” Mancini told the Guardian.
“There are big players. I don’t know what can happen. Suárez plays for a top team like Liverpool. Cavani plays for Napoli.
“Cavani and Falcao would work in England. They have experience. Both players are 26, 27. They are good enough to play in England.”
Mancini also admitted his admiration for Brazil international Neymar, although the Italian thinks it is more likely that he will move to Spain should he choose to quit his native homeland.
He added: “Neymar is a good player. He’s young. I don’t know if he’s ready to play in England because the football is totally different. I think he will go to Barcelona or Madrid where the football is more technical.”
