He’s the difference! Allardyce wary of Bale threat ahead of Tottenham clash
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce admits his side will have their work cut out in keeping Tottenham's Gareth Bale quiet on Monday

Sam Allardyce admits his West Ham side will have their work cut out in trying to keep Gareth Bale quiet when they host Tottenham Hotspur at Upton Park on Monday.
Spurs travel to their London neighbours looking to take a step closer to a fourth-place finish, with Bale in stunning form, having scored nine goals in his last nine outings for Andre Villas-Boas’s men.
Hammers boss Allardyce has been impressed by Tottenham’s recent performances and has warned his side that Bale “will need some looking after” on Monday.
“The team [Spurs] from an attacking point of view has been outstanding.
“Recently they’ve lost their leading goal-scorer, who is Jermain Defoe, and [Emmanuel] Adebayor has been away at the Africa Cup of Nations, so from a goal-scoring point of view they’ve had to rely on one man and one man only to come up with the goods.
“That’s Gareth Bale and he’s been the major difference between Tottenham and the teams they’ve played recently.
“Not only has he scored very important goals, but they’ve been stunning goals at that. He’s going to need some looking after on Monday night.”
