Joe Root scored an unbeaten 79 to help England secure an eight-wicket victory over New Zealand to level the ODI series in Napier on Wednesday.

Alastair Cook and Ian Bell also chipped in with a first-wicket stand of 89, before James Anderson starred with the ball taking five wickets to level the series at 1-1.
