Swansea 4 QPR 1: Harry Redknapp says the Hoops are "bang in trouble" after a comprehensive defeat at Liberty Stadium
Harry Rednapp says Queens Park Rangers are “bang in trouble” after the Hoops suffered a heavy defeat by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The visitors fell behind in the eighth minute when Michu netted after Júlio Cesar spilled Nathan Dyer’s shot before Wayne Routledge doubled the home side’s lead with a close-range strike.
Bobby Zamora replaced Jamie Mackie at half-time, and the former Fulham striker netted within minutes of being introduced as he capitalised on Michel Vorm’s error.
However, Swansea restored their two-goal advantage after Pablo Hernandez outwitted Clint Hill and scored from an acute angle, with Michu scoring his second and the Swans’ fourth in the 68th minute.
It was QPR’s first loss in five Premier League games, leaving the west London side six points from safety, and Redknapp admitted the Hoops are in big trouble.
“We looked better in the second half, we got back to 2-1 and I was thinking we’d get something from the game then suddenly we go and give two more goals away,” Redknapp told BBC Sport.
“We’re bang in trouble but we’ve got to keep going, we’re not going to give up. We’ve not a nice easy game against Manchester United next so bring it on!”
