Carlos Vela says he doesn’t want to move back to Arsenal despite speculation linking the Gunners with a bid for the Real Sociedad striker.

The 24-year-old forward moved to the Basque outfit from the north London side in a £3.5m deal last July after scoring 12 goals in the 2011-12 campaign on loan at Sociedad.

Vela has continued his impressive form this term, netting 12 strikes and making eight assists to help the Spanish side maintain their bid for a top-five finish.

Arsenal are reported to have included a buy-back clause in Vela’s contract, but the Mexico international has no desire to return to The Emirates.

“Arsenal are a big team who gave me the opportunity to play in Europe,” he told Spanish news international agency EFE.

“I will always remember that, but I didn’t have the opportunities that I felt I deserved.

“I am here [at Real Sociedad] and would like to stay here.”

Vela scored 11 goals in 62 appearances for the Gunners in a five-year spell before moving to Sociedad on loan in 2011.
