Martin Jol admits he would be interested in snapping up on-loan Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old has made two Premier League appearances for Fulham since completing a short-term loan move from Arsenal in January.

Frimpong’s Gunners career has been hampered by a string of niggling knee injuries, but Jol would still contemplate a deal for the midfielder.

“If there is the opportunity to take him, I would probably do it,” Jol told the Daily Express.

Meanwhile, Sascha Riether has expressed his desire to secure a switch to the Cottagers after joining on a season-long loan deal from Cologne last summer.

The 29-year-old scored in a 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Saturday, and the German defender is keen to stay at Fulham after making 27 appearances this term.

“I’d like to remain here. Fulham have an option to buy me and so I think in the next few weeks there will be talks about my future,” he told Fulham’s website.

“At the moment I can’t really say what will happen. But I like it here and I’m thankful that Fulham gave me the chance to play in the Premier League.”
