Real Madrid have the chance to move four points clear of third-placed Atlético Madrid on Saturday – and El Tipstro is backing Cristiano Ronaldo to fire his side to three points against Mallorca.

Our resident betting expert is predicting over 1.5 goals in the first half at the Bernabéu as José Mourinho’s men look to cement the final automatic Champions League qualifying spot in La Liga.

And on Sunday, he’s tipping David Villa to score for Barcelona against Rayo Vallecano, in what should be a high-scoring affair at Camp Nou.

Ronaldo to score first in Madrid v Mallorca – 6/4

Ronaldo has been in impressive form in recent weeks, scoring five goals in his last four appearances in all competitions. The 28-year-old has netted 26 goals in 24 La Liga appearances this season – not quite as many as Lionel Messi – but still outstanding. He’s got a good record in this fixture too, scoring both home and away against Mallorca last season. So El Tipstro is backing Ronaldo to score first at a decent 6/4.

Over 1.5 goals in first half of Madrid v Mallorca – 4/5

Real Madrid have a record of scoring plenty of goals against Mallorca in their recent meetings. Los Blancos have netted at least two in their last three clashes against the Islanders in all competitions. But backing over 2.5 goals in the match isn’t great value at 1/4. Madrid have won 5-0 and 4-1 in the last two instalments of this fixture, leading 2-0 at half-time on both occasions. So El Tipstro reckons over 1.5 goals in the first half is worth a punt at 4/5.
Bet365 odds

Over 3.5 goals in Barca v Rayo Vallecano – 8/13

Barcelona were emphatic 4-0 winners against an ever-improving AC Milan side in midweek. It set them up nicely for the visit of Europa-League chasing Rayo Vallecano, who Barca have scored at least three goals against in their last four meetings. Furthermore, the Catalan side have netted at least twice in 22 of their last 24 games in the Spanish league. So El Tipstro is backing over 3.5 goals in Barca v Rayo Vallecano at 8/13.
Bet365 odds

Villa to score any time for Barca v Rayo Vallecano – 4/9

Villa found the net in Barcelona’s 4-0 win against Milan in the Champions League last 16, and El Tipstro fancies the Spaniard to continue his goal-scoring run on Sunday. The former Valencia man has been overshadowed by Lionel Messi in recent seasons but still has an impressive record at Barça, The 31-year-old has scored in his last two games against Vallecano, and El Tipstro is backing the forward to make it a third successive game at 4/9.

The long shot: Falcao to score first & Atlético to win – 4/1

Diego Simeone’s side finally lost their 100 per cent record at Vicente Calderon last weekend, with Real Sociedad securing a 1-0 win. El Tipstro expects Atlético Madrid to bounce back away to Osasuna, bearing in mind their recent improved away record. Atlético are unbeaten in four games on the road in all competitions. Falcao, who has 21 goals this season, hasn’t scored in two games but El Tipstro is still backing the Colombian to net first and Atlético to win at very good odds of 4/1.
