Kevin De Bruyne is eager to prove his worth to Chelsea after his loan spell at Werder Bremen ends in the summer.

The Belgium midfielder, who moved to Stamford Bridge last summer after being signed by the Blues from Genk in January 2012, is yet to make an appearance for the west Londoners after being sent out on loan to Germany last August.

De Bruyne has scored six goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for Werder Bremen this season – and the 21-year-old is desperate to be given a chance to impress at Stamford Bridge next season.

“I want to show everyone at Chelsea that I can play there,” Kevin De Bruyne told Sky Sports.

“But at the moment I don’t know what Chelsea want to do with me, so it’s difficult to say what’s going to happen with me in the next year, or years. I have to just wait.”

De Bruyne signed for Chelsea last January in a £7m deal after scoring 17 goals and making 36 assists in 107 appearances for Genk between 2008 and 2012.
