Pepe Reina has insisted that his relationship with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is “very good” despite the goalkeeper being linked with a move away from Anfield this season.

Injuries have limited the Spanish goalkeeper to 28 appearances in all competitions this season, with Brad Jones starting the Reds’ last two games.

Reina has been linked with a transfer away from Anfield after a mixed start to the season for the 30-year-old.

But the shot-stopper insists he is pleased with the managerial set-up on Merseyside and says that he and Rodgers share a similar philosophy about football.

“My relationship with the manager is very good, I think we have got a lot of ideas in common,” Reina told the Daily Mirror.

“There is understanding about tactics, and the way we see football is quite similar.

“I’m very happy with our manager. He’s making sure we are learning, every day, the way to win, and that’s important.

“If we play good football, then we will be closer to winning games.”
