It’s in our hands! Sigurdsson upbeat over Tottenham’s top-four chances

Gylfi Sigurdsson insists Tottenham have their Champions League fate in their own hands as they look to secure a top-four finish.
The north Londoners are currently in fourth place with eight games left to play but Arsenal have closed the gap to their neighbours to just four points following Spurs’ defeats by Liverpool and Fulham.
Spurs face tough games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton in the run-in but the midfielder is confident his side can maintain their place in the Champions League spots.
“It’s in our hands,” Sigurdsson told Spurs’ website ahead of Saturday’s trip to Swansea. “We’ve tough games coming up and these are the games we all want to be involved in.
“We have to pick up as many points as we can and we’ve important matches against City, Chelsea, Everton all coming up. We need to pick up as many points as possible, starting at Swansea.”
Sigurdsson, who joined Tottenham from Swansea last summer, has been impressed with his former club’s form this term after they lifted the League Cup in February.
“Swansea have been really good this season, won a trophy and they’ve done well in the Premier League,” he added.
“They are a hard team to play against and as I said earlier this season, they’ve pushed on again, continued to perform well and I’m sure they’ll be established in the Premier League for years to come.”
