Jonny Evans wants to fulfil a lifelong ambition and become Manchester United captain in years to come.
The 25-year-old defender, who has been at United since he was 16 years old, has scored four goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season.
And the Northern Ireland international is keen to take the captain’s armband one day – although he admits he is likely to have to be patient.
“It’s obviously an ambition I had when I was younger – I wanted to be captain of United,” Evans told the Daily Star.
“You look at the captains over the last couple of years, they’re close to 30 before they get the nod.
“I’m sure there are plenty of players above me who want it and are in line to get it before me.”
