Liverpool transfers: Denmark's Christian Eriksen is unsure whether he will be at Ajax beyond the summer amid Reds interest
Christian Eriksen says he is unsure whether he will be an Ajax player beyond the summer amid reported interest from Liverpool in the Danish midfielder.
The 21-year-old is one of the hottest up-and-coming talents in Europe after impressing at Frank de Boer’s side over the past two seasons, winning back-to-back Eredivisie titles.
The Denmark international has continued his sparkling form for Ajax this season, scoring 10 goals and making 15 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
Eriksen is expected to command a fee in the region of £17m, and and the playmaker refused to commit his long-term future to the Dutch champions.
“I don’t know if I will be an Ajax player after the summer,” he said.
“I will probably start up training with them and then we will see what happens. I don’t exclude anything.”
Meanwhile, Ajax techinical director Mark Overmars revealed Liverpool have been “frequent visitors” to the club this season amid growing speculation the Reds are set to bid for Eriksen in the summer.
“We have a list of scouts from foreign clubs who have visited us and Liverpool have been a frequent visitor,” Overmars told De Telegraaf.
Eriksen has scored 27 goals in 150 appearances after the midfielder made his debut for Ajax against NAC Breda in the Eredivisie under current Fulham boss Martin Jol in January 2010.
