Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge set to return for Tottenham clash
Liverpool assistant manager Colin Pascoe confirms Daniel Sturridge is fit for their clash against Tottenham at Anfield
Daniel Sturridge will be available for Liverpool’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday, according to Reds assistant manager Colin Pascoe.
The England international missed the club’s impressive 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Saturday due to a persistent thigh injury.
With Brendan Rodgers’s side out of the Europa League and FA Cup, the Reds have the chance to boost their slender top-four ambitions by beating third-placed Spurs.
And the 23-year-old, who completed a £12m switch from Chelsea in the January transfer window, has recovered in time for this weekend’s Anfield clash.
“He’s looking good. It was his first day training today and he has trained well. He will be available for Sunday,” said Pascoe.
“Everyone seems fit and raring to go and we can’t wait for Sunday.”
Sturridge has scored five goals in seven games in all competitions after penning a long-term contract at the Reds in January.
