Man United transfers: Mario Götze admits Red Devils attraction
Man United transfers: Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Götze says he is attracted to the idea of joining the Red Devils
Mario Götze has admitted he is attracted to the idea of swapping Borussia Dortmund for Manchester United in the future.
The Germany international has been one of key players in Jürgen Klopp’s all-conquering Dortmund side, who have won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in recent seasons.
The 20-year-old has scored 14 goals in 36 appearances for the defending German champions this term.
And the midfielder’s form has prompted interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs, including La Liga duo Barcelona and Real Madrid, while the Red Devils have also been linked with a move.
“I’m keeping my options open,” Götze told Fifa.com.
“Clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are attractive, and playing in another top league would shape me and help me develop as a player.
“But I’m not thinking that far ahead at the moment. I’m happy in Germany and am delighted with the way things are going. Anything else is still a long way off.”
Götze scored in Germany’s 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan on Tuesday night, with Joachim Löw’s side eight points clear of second-placed Sweden in Group C.
