Antonio Valencia believes Manchester United’s Rafael Da Silva will become one of the best right-backs in the world.

The Brazil international, 22, has been one of the club’s standout performers this season, growing into the full-back role since Gary Neville’s retirement and John O’Shea’s switch to Sunderland.

Da Silva has scored three goals in 22 Premier League appearances, and Valencia has been impressed by the youngster’s improvement over the course of the season.

“It’s incredible how much he’s improved,” said Valencia. “I’ve seen a big improvement in his level of concentration.

“If he continues, it won’t be long before he’s one of the best right-backs in the world.”

While Rafael has been impressive, Valencia has struggled to maintain his eye-catching performances after an injury-hit campaign.

However, the Ecuador international vowed to keep working hard and follow the example of United veteran Ryan Giggs.

“I hope I’ve an important part to play between now and May. I hope I’m involved in as many games as I can.

“If picked, I’m determined to grab my opportunities and do my best for everyone.

“I admire and learn from Ryan Giggs and Nani every day. They are great pros and players who work hard to become the best they can be. Ryan’s desire to win is as strong as ever.”
