He’s been a revelation! Man United boss Ferguson hails Swansea’s Michu
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson singles out Michu as the signing of the season after stunning campaign for Swansea
Sir Alex Ferguson has singled out Michu as the signing of the season after the Swansea City striker’s impressive debut campaign in the English top flight.
The Spanish striker has been the Swans’ star performer this season since securing a £2m transfer to the Liberty Stadium from Rayo Vallecano last summer.
The 26-year-old has already scored 19 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for Michael Laudrup’s men, helping the Swans lift the Capital One Cup and reach 40 points in the Premier League.
And Manchester United boss Ferguson has been impressed by Michu, as well as Swansea’s overall campaign this term.
“The boy Michu has been a revelation. To sign him for just £2m and get 20 goals out of him – what a bargain!” Ferguson told Inside United.
“I wouldn’t say Swansea have been the surprise package but they’ve really lifted their performances.
“They were a newly-promoted side last year and managed to survive in the top flight. This season, they’ve kicked on to another level and become a good middle-to-top side.
“They also won the League Cup of course and they play really good football. I’d say they’re the team of the year with Michu a real bargain buy.”
