Newcastle transfers: Douglas interested in Inter Milan switch
Newcastle transfers: Douglas's agent Marcos Paulo Ribeiro says the FC Twente defender is interested in a move to Inter Milan

Newcastle United target Douglas is interested in a move to Inter Milan, according to the FC Twente defender’s agent.
The Brazilian-born centre-half has been one of Twente’s standout performers in recent campaigns, but his current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, alerting a host of Europe’s top clubs.
Alan Pardew could lose Fabricio Coloccini in the summer, with the centre-half keen to return to his native Argentina, which would prompt the Magpies boss to search for a long-term replacement for the Newcastle captain.
Douglas’s agent Marcos Paulo Ribeiro confirmed the defender had already turned down an offer from Anzhi Makhachkala, but says his client’s preferred destination would be Serie A.
“It is good that a top club like Anzhi made an offer to Douglas, but he wants to play in Serie A,” Ribeiro told Russian newspaper Izvestia.
“And when Inter showed an interest in the player, we decided to stop negotiations with the Russian club and wait for the summer transfer market.”
