Aguero, Kompany and more: Twitter reacts as Man City beat Aston Villa
Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Phil Thompson all tweet their thoughts after Manchester City beat Aston Villa on Monday
Carlos Tevez netted the winner for Manchester City in a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on Monday night to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester United back to 12 points.
Ciaran Clark’s mistake just before half-time resulted in the Villa captain being dispossessed by Edin Dzeko – and Tevez made no mistake from close range.
Here is the best of the Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order, to City’s win.

Everton striker James Vaughan (@vaughany08) is upset to see his former team-mate injured again: “Gutted to see Jack Rodwell get injured again! Top lad and top player but getting held back by injury at the minute!”
Former Leicester man Darren Eadie (@eadie11) reckons City are too casual: “Watched five mins of #VillavCity, it seems to me the difference between City and United is United play with urgency whoever they play, City are too casual?”
Ex-Liverpool defender Phil Thompson (@Phil_Thompson4) leaps to Clark’s defence: “Poor decision by Mike Dean, Dzeko fouled Clark.”
Former Olympian Katharine Merry (@KatharineMerry) is not enjoying watching her side lose: “Goal down after 74 mins….#avfc”
