I wasn’t sorry to see Man United lose to Real Madrid, says Pogba
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba insists he was not disappointed to see his former side lose to Real Madrid
Paul Pogba says that he was not disappointed to see his former club Manchester United crash out of the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-1 at Old Trafford after strikes from Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo gave the La Liga side victory after Sergio Ramos’ own goal.
United were pegged back after being reduced to 10 men when Nani was controversially sent off for a high tackle on Alvaro Arbeloa in the 56th minute.
And Pogba, who moved to Juventus from Old Trafford last summer after refusing to sign a new deal with the Red Devils, was not sorry to see his former employers lose.
“Did I watch Manchester United yesterday? Of course I did. Was I sorry to see them lose to Real? No,” Pogba is quoted as saying by Goal.com.
Pogba was speaking after helping Juve secure a 2-0 win over Celtic to book the Serie A side’s place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
He added: “We are pleased. It was a very difficult game and we played the right way. There is a great confidence within the team and the staff, and we will try to win the Champions League because we are Juve.”
