Tom Carroll is convinced that Tottenham will return to winning ways after defeats by Liverpool and Fulham blew the race for a top-four finish wide open again.

Spurs were beaten 1-0 by their London rivals on Sunday to compound the previous weekend’s reversal at Anfield and leave Arsenal just four points behind Andre Villas-Boas’ men, who have played a game more than the Gunners.

But the 20-year-old Carroll, who has made 12 appearances for the north Londoners this season and was a substitute against Fulham, is sure that Spurs will bounce back when they travel to Swansea City after the international break.

“On a personal level, I was quite pleased with how it went but the three points would have been massive for us and we couldn’t get the win, so that was disappointing for everyone,” Carroll told Spurs’ website.

“We all wanted to bounce back after the results at Liverpool and at the San Siro but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

“We don’t have days like this very often, but this was one of them.

“I’m sure with the players in the squad we can bounce back and we’ll look to kick on again after the international break. We’ve some big characters in there and I’m confident we can do it.”
