Michael Laudrup vented his frustration after watching his Swansea City side denied a late equaliser at West Brom in controversial circumstances.

The visitors had taken the lead at The Hawthorns through Luke Moore’s header but the home side fought back, with Romelu Lukaku levelling before half-time and Jonathan De Guzman’s own goal putting the Baggies in front.

But the game ended in controversial fashion after Roland Lamah had a late goal ruled out for offside, despite the ball appearing to come off a West Brom player before crossing the line.

“Football is about emotions and all that, you score goals and concede them, you are up and down in 90 minutes and you talk about decisions made by the referee, but it’s a part of the game,” Laudrup, who signed a new contract with the Swans on Friday, told BBC Sport.

“What makes me frustrated is when you see our disallowed goal. We are not talking about a decision, we are talking about the rules of football.

“When the ball comes back not off one player, but two, it cannot be offside. It’s like giving offside from a throw in. It’s frustrating.”

West Brom boss Steve Clarke had no choice but to hold his hands up and agree with Laudrup about the decision but insisted his side were worthy of the win.

“I’ve got to agree with Michael Laudrup,” said Clarke. “If you look at it, it last came off Ben Foster, which means the fellow is not offside.

“We were fortunate on that one, but the effort we put in, sometimes you get your luck and we earned it.”
