Aaron Ramsey is confident Arsenal’s top-four rivals Chelsea and Tottenham will drop points in the run-in as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.

Chelsea’s win over Fulham on Wednesday moved the Blues above Arsenal into third place in the Premier League table, with Spurs two points behind the fourth-placed Gunners.

Arsenal have five games left to secure their Champions League spot, starting with a trip to Fulham on Saturday.

And Ramsey is hopeful the north Londoners’ rivals will slip up in what he feels will be a testing run-in.

He said: “Tottenham and Chelsea still have to play each other.

“They still have tough games. The teams are going to drop points so we’re still positive and confident that we can finish in the top four.

“We’re just concentrating on our own game and taking every game as it comes. [If we are in third place] maybe they might feel a bit of pressure going into their [next] game to try and get three points to get back above us.”

Ramsey, who joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008, added: “We always knew that this week was going to be a big week for us. We’ve got four points out of two games so far.

“We’re still unbeaten in a load of games and hopefully now we can finish the week off strongly and get a win at Fulham which will put us in a really strong position.”
