Hugo Lloris eyes ‘strong finish’ after Tottenham’s brilliant City comeback
Hugo Lloris hopes Tottenham's remarkable second-half comeback against Manchester City can help fire Spurs towards top four
Hugo Lloris is hoping that Tottenham’s remarkable second-half comeback against Manchester City can help fire Spurs towards a top-four finish.
After falling behind to Samir Nasri’s early opener at White Hart Lane, three goals in six minutes capped a stunning turnaround for Andre Villas-Boas’s men as they gave their hopes of Champions League qualification a significant boost.
Spurs remain in fifth in the table but are just two points behind third-placed Arsenal and have played a game less than their north London rivals.
“We changed the result and found the victory,” said Lloris, who move to Spurs from Lyon last summer.
“We conceded early and after that, at 1-0 down, it was difficult for us but the game changed in the second half. The bench made the difference and that’s always a good sign.
“It’s an important win because it showed we have good team spirit. It was a great game, a great performance I hope it will give us the power to finish strongly.”
Tottenham travel to Wigan Athletic on Saturday in their next Premier League game.
