Liverpool transfers: Blackpool winger Thomas Ince ‘worth £25m’
Liverpool transfers: Blackpool manager Paul Ince says his son Thomas Ince is worth £25m amid interest from the Premier League
Paul Ince has claimed Blackpool forward Thomas Ince is worth £25m amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 21-year-old forward won the Football League young player of the year award in March after scoring an impressive 19 goals in 33 Championship appearances this season.
Ince joined Blackpool from Liverpool in 2011, ending a three-year spell at the 18-time English champions after failing to break into the first-team.
His father Paul took charge of the Tangerines in February, and the former Red Devils midfielder claims Thomas is worth £25m if United were willing to pay £15m for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
“If you’re talking £15m for Zaha, Thomas has got to be £25m,” Ince told BBC Radio Lancashire.
“If you compare the two, Thomas should cost more. Zaha is a fantastic player, don’t get me wrong. Zaha’s a stronger runner and does a lot of tricks, whereas Thomas is more direct, he makes things happen and he scores goals.
“You’ve got a kid playing in the Championship who has scored 18 goals.
“When you look at the leading scorers, they’re all strikers, and he’s there amongst them. Potentially, I think he can reach that value.”
