Liverpool transfers: Christian Eriksen isn’t joining the Reds, say Ajax
Liverpool transfers: Ajax deny speculation that they have agreed a deal to sell Christian Eriksen to the Reds this summer

Ajax have poured cold water on reports claiming that the Eredivisie champions have agreed a deal to sell Christian Eriksen to Liverpool in the summer.
The Denmark international is believed to be one of Brendan Rodgers’ top summer targets as the Liverpool boss looks to bolster his squad after failing to secure a top-four finish this term.
The 21-year-old playmaker, who is the reigning Dutch footballer of the year, has impressed for Ajax this season, scoring 12 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions.
But despite the increasing uncertainty over Eriksen’s Ajax future, the club’s press officer Eefje Schep insists there is no deal in place with the 18-time English champions.
“We will send out a press release when there is an agreement,” Schep told Denmark’s TV2.
“Also if there is only a deal between Ajax and the club. So at this time there is no agreement between Ajax and Liverpool.”
Ajax technical director Marc Overmars revealed Eriksen has rejected the chance to sign a new deal at the Amsterdam outfit, with his current contract set to expire in 2014.
“Christian has informed us that he won’t be signing a new deal with us at this time,” Overmars told Voetbal International. “I think that he and his agent will want to see what options are available in the summer.”
