Liverpool transfers: Italy Under-21 international Fabio Borini says he wants to stay at Anfield beyond the summer

Fabio Borini insists he is not looking to leave Liverpool in the summer despite an injury-ravaged first season at Anfield.
The Italy Under-21 international has started just five Premier League games and is without a top-flight goal after completing a £10.5m move from Roma last summer.
Borini broke his foot while on international duty last October before dislocating his shoulder in a 5-0 victory over Swansea City in February, less than two months after his comeback.
The former Swans striker has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside outfit in recent weeks, but Borini wants to stay and prove his worth ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“It’s been a difficult season due to some unfortunate injuries, but these things happen and you can only accept them,” Borini told Rete Sport.
“This is not a totally wasted season, I hope to be helpful in these remaining four games and the 2014 World Cup is a big goal for me.
“In regards to my future, I’m not really thinking about next year, but I will stay at Liverpool because I have yet to prove that I can compete here.”
