Man City transfers: Carlos Tevez weighing up Citizens future
Man City transfers: Argentina international Carlos Tevez says he is weighing up his long-term future at the Eastlands outfit
Carlos Tevez says he is yet to make a decision on his long-term future at Manchester City, with the striker hinting he may sign a new Citizens deal.
The Argentina international has been one of City’s most consistent performers in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the deposed Premier League champions.
The 29-year-old has scored 11 goals in 29 top-flight appearances this term, with his current deal at the Eastlands outfit set to expire at the end of the 2013/14 season.
Tevez has been linked with a return to South America in the summer amid interest from Corinthians, but the striker says he would give serious thought to committing himself to City if the club offer a new contract.
“I have a year left and I will respect that,” Tevez told the Sun. “I’ll think about whether to sign a new one.
“It’s not the same as last season when I wanted to leave as soon as possible. I’m going through a different time. The club is treating me really well and that’s so important for me.”
Tevez has scored 73 goals in 138 appearances for the Citizens after completing a highly-controversial move to City from Manchester United.
