Hernanes would be interested in swapping Lazio for Manchester City at the end of the season, according to the midfielder’s agent.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the defending Premier League champions in the summer, with Roberto Mancini keen to strengthen his squad after a disappointing season.

The Brazil international has scored nine goals in 28 Serie A appearances this term, helping Lazio stay in the race to secure a top-four finish and Europa League football next season.

And Hernanes’s agent Joseph Lee insists the South American playmaker would love to move to the Premier League if an offer from the Citizens should materialise.

“I repeat, for now we are talking about rumours, but if [the offer from City] did arrive then [Lazio president] Claudio Lotito would be forced to call us,” Lee said.

“City are a top club at world level and Hernanes loves the Premier League but I have too much respect for Lazio to say any more.”

Hernandes has scored 35 goals in 124 appearances for the Rome outfit after joining the club from Sao Paulo in 2010.
